Today's math midterm has disturbed my way of thinking. After finishing the nine problems on the test, I proceeded to check my work. My eyes followed along the hastily written subsitutions and equations; then it struck me.

"Wut with dis curap I doing?"

OK, I didn't really say it that way, but you get the idea. It wasn't as though I considered my work crap, but rather that all the numbers and problems appeared, when I viewed it more objectivly, like jumbled nonsense. Who cares about what mathimatical concept or formula I've memorized? Seriously, does this really matter? Such thoughts prodded my mind for some time (roughly a few seconds); I was literally stupified. Then I got back to examining my work, clicking back to my normal self. Mmmmm, math is good!

I found a song by a Christian group that I really like (this is very unusual). I consider Cristian rock and pop to be mostly garbage (due to excessivly cheesy lyrics and cheesy pop melody lines. Anyways, back to what I was saying), but "Tonight" by LaRue has just amazed me. From it's opening line, "It's a beautiful pain when your grace shines on my face," to the infectuous prechorus "And still I cry for you," I was wholly impressed. It's just an incredible song; it's message, music, and singing. The LaRue siblings are some of the best pop/rock singers there are in my opinion. Check it out and maybe you'll be impressed to.

I can't believe I'm listening to rap on the radio now. Besides 50 cent's "In da club" and "Wanksta Freestyle," there's nothing I really like. Speaking of "Wanksta Freestyle," I heard this stupid rendition of it on 94.9. Strawberry (I think that's the guys name) converted all the lyrics into ghetto 94.9 talk. Oh man, it was horrible. And speaking of Strawberry, that pervert is conducting this "have a night on the down with Fabulous" contest. The whole process of entering and drawing is just sick-I don't think I should explain it. I think I'll stick to KMEL for my rap and R&B needs.

I've also been revisiting japanese bands like Do as Infinity and The Brilliant Green (my passion of fall semester, spring is all about BoA!). I am still in awe when I hear these songs; they just have the energy that is mind blowing. Japanese songs tend to be much more musically catchy than english songs.

"I want to try something new, but I don't really know... What do you think?"
"A new style? Regular looks good. You look serious. Some kids want it short back there," she points to the back of my head, "and long up here. It looks weird."
"Uhhhh. OK. I guess I'll have it regular." She starts to cut my hair. "My nephew had long long hair, trying to look like a movie star. Before he got a haircut like this he didn't have a girlfriend. After his hair was like this he got a girlfriend."
"Oh..." Snip snip snip.
"I was thinking about dyeing my hair, but I'm not sure about it," I say.
"Dye your hair? Black; it looks the best for men. Some kids like it bleached white," she draws imaginary strands of hair "black, white, black. It looks weird. You look good this way-you want to look serious."
"OK." I now don't feel like coloring my hair anymore.
"Now when you go to a university you'll get a girlfriend," she tells me.

Yuraiaiaia* likes BoA (yeah yeah yeah yeah!). Let me explain in detail how I figured out such wonderful news. Mrs. Teacher was telling the class about an upcoming math contest. As she was listing of various dates, I took out my planner to write down the information. I have this picture of BoA in my planner's see-through cover/sleeve, and upon seeing my planner, Yuraiaiai* exclaimed "BoA! I have her CD."
BoA really is too cool.
I close my planner and stare at the picture for a second. "Oh yeah, BoA's like the coolest."

I also figured out that BoA attended the Grammys. That makes sense because she was training in New York and all.

I had my CM regional panel audition this morning. WOWeee, what a trip!! Place: Diablo Valley College (messed up name, I know), Time: 10:00, but it got moved to 10:30, Who: Na****** and I. What: Play violin for some judges to see if we could continue to the state level.

I was allready nervous because I didn't have sufficient time to practice my music. On Tuesday my teacher called and told me about some audition I had to do. Audition? "What is she talking about?" I thought. Crazy crazy crazy. Guess what they told me 15 minutes before my audtion? I had to perform 3rds, 6ths, and octaves for the judges! So I'm waiting outside the room in which I would play, listening to the student before me. Out she comes, in I go.

My solos went very well; the judges stopped me after the first minute of the Bruch Concerto (my best piece), which sort of bothered me because I practiced this darn thing so much for these gusy- GAH! 3rds, 6ths, and octaves I nailed. I started crossing those strings and the two judges look at each other like "Finally, a kid who can actually play in tune. Sheesh." The compliment me and I open the door to leave. AH!

"You!" It's Cath***** from orchestra. She's going in with another girl. "Hey Cath****," I say. "I knew it was .." She says some stuff I don't remember. Ok lots of stuff happened (Cath*** had to rush away, and the lady who was going to drive her to orchestra pulled her by the arm like in a cartoon-bah I can't type it out, it just looked so funny). then N. and I are told we made the state level. Oh BOY!

Math class is soooooo dull. I don't say boring because math, as you all know, is never boring. It's just that my class is soooooo dull. Goodness-last week when learning about integration by parts and stuff with all these subsitutions I was getting more lost than Hansel and Grettle (excuse my lack of understanding evil genius reader).

Yah.

In less than an hour those assignments go in. May God bless the work of my hands.

About 15 minutes ago, this asian girl from my music class asked me about the work due today. She wasn't completely sure which assingments we had to turn in. I had played it safe; finishing all the homework teach gave us. But I don't worry for her, she seems to know what she's doing (she also is an incredibly fast typer!).
Golfland was fun yesterday! It has reawakened my desire to work there in the summer!! I asked G-$* if his friend still worked there (we hope this fellow can hook a few brothas up). Wit a lit-le luck, we gonna be makin' the buck. "Foo".
Got my SAT scores today. It's literally an OK score; I think I'll take it again in a few months.

I have got to update this thing more often, seriously. Things happened today:
1) I was kneading some dough today, and I must say, kneading dough is not for the faint of hand. I was getting a real workout smooshing and squishing that lump of dough. I even tempted my dog Sam with the stuff, and unfortunatly, carelessly let him get off a nibble! I though that was really funny.
2) So anyways, I'm currently working on my homework that's due on Tuesday. Yesterday, I spent 3 whole hours working on my Calc II homework and I only finished 8 out of 12 problems. I did 3 more today but I'm totally stuck on one problem (#41 in my book FYI) so I'll ask teach to do the question in class.
Jazz stuff is going OK. It's hard putting down your reactions and feelings in words. I want to write down "good" reactions, but at the same time I don't want to exagerate my real feelings toward the stuff. You get what I'm saying?
3) I asked my dad what he would think if I dyed my hair. He reacted with "Why would you want to dye your hair?!" He told me that he wouldn't disown me if I did, so I guess I can take that as a go ahead. Maybe in a few weeks...
4) Something else interesting happened in my home today. My sister showed my mom a picture of Arvil Lavinge and asked if my mom though Lavinge was good looking. "Pu Tong," says my mom, which means "average looking" in Chinese. HA HA. I wonder if Arvil looks like BoA to Americans/Canadians. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Tomorrow: mini-golfing!

quoted: Boa is making headlines in Japan where she sold close to a million copies of her official 2nd album immediately after it was released on January 29. The album which boasted 700,000 pre-orders received an additional 280,000 orders the day it was released to rise to #1 on Japan’s prestigious Oricon Chart. She’s the quickest foreign gasoo to sell that many albums in Japan. Currently the record for the most sold copies for an album in Japan for a Japanese singer is Utada Hikaru’s 8 million. While a million sales is viewed as a big hit in Korea, Japan which has more people but is also experiencing something of a slump in its own music industry considers 3 million copies sold as a big hit. With Boa’s current popularity she is expected to have a fair shot at the watermark number of 3 million sales. Her 1st full Japanese album released last March sold a total of 1.3 million copies.
I see the funniest things at school. I'm waiting in line at the A&R and I hear a mumble of "something something b**** ha ha ha." I then see two black girls walk past me, joking with each other. The first girl exagerates a middle finger in Girl number 2's face. "I'll bite that s***, I ain't playin" says the second girl. After a little more banter, girl number two chases after the first. I also saw this burly 40 some year old man in a bright pink tank top. Moreover, just as the burly man went out of my view, a dude about eight feet tall guy walked past me. How strange/cool/funny!

I'll post some old BoA facts just because I like talking about her:
(quoted from the jpopmusic/BoA board)

... in that clip with the BoA crying, the manager is a real jerk. The UK guy tells the manager "She really shouldn't be drinking that water near the console, it's expensive, blah blah" and he just tells her "QUIT IT! QUIT IT!" She has no idea what he is talking about and says "huh?" and he just points at her and repeats "STOP IT NOW!" Then she points to the cup "this? huh? I'm just..." He goes "yeah, the water, quit it!" BTW he is speaking japanese, which she still has some trouble with, so she (to me) it seems as if was just trying to see if she fully understood him. But he gets pretty pissed off pretty quick.

So you can see why she is somewhat upset. He didn't really explain to here what the heck was going on very well.

*(note from clooney: you can download a video clip of this from kazaa)
