Ya hoo! schools over. I have completed my GE.

I bought my first very own backpack. it says "insane clown posse" on it. I have since found out that they're a really weird band of musicians/wrestlers. WHAT THE. Still, it is a very cool cool backpack. I thought my mom was going to kill me because it costed like $30 (but i had a 12 gift card!) but she thought it was nice! and she tried it on too xP!!!!

I really need a hair cut. There's just too much volume!! There are these guys in Korea that put their pics online and become realllly popular. They are called Uhljjang, which means best (looking) face. Sometimes they become famous and get TV roles

Story of the Year - Anthem of Our dying day

"
From up here the city lights burn
Like a thousand miles of fire
And I'm here to sing this anthem
Of our dying day
"

Some good mainstream.

Jon and I have been eating like crazy. We were talking about hyper testosterone syndrome, and i was like "does it happen to everyone at the same time?" and he said "people that live together tend to syncronize." Hilarious!
I am now downloading a movie... don't kill me alright.. it's "YOU got SERVED." You know what? What makes wangsters so uncool is that they dress all gangster but most can't dance, rap, sing, or anything. All they can do is copy what they see in gangster movies... dressing in expensive clothing and acting like they the coolest ting since Moby. Hello 50 cent-JUNIOR. Did I mention that you're not black? They're pretty much economically as far as they can get from the ghetto. My grandad was more hardcore then these wangsters.

Good thing I'm not some gangster :) I am my own breed of Chinese (Koreanified) match in the gas can boom boom boom.

You know what, BoA looks good in black hair. What would happen if like 80% of all Asian girls decided to go back to black. Then they could wear dark clothes and look intimidating and kick butt. That would be crazy. By the way, today is kpop tuesday!!

This is Korean R and B singer "J". Maybe some day I can go to one of her concerts. I think she has family in SF. She has a nice voice.

Here's some kpop 101. This girl here is Hyori, she's somewhere in her mid-20s. Anyways, up until last year (i think last year) she was part of a pop group called Fin.k.l. but she left to do her own solo project. Now she is SUper Duper popular and many guys think she's super hot. This picture is actually really good because she's not dressed like a skanky ho. Forgive the language. Nowadays she dresses in a way that's bad. While part of Finkl, Hyori protrayed a really cute image like this:

cute huh? Why do pretty singers turn into nastified trash? More pictures of her can be found here

What's this?? Chinese stuff! Cantonese Singers from the group "Twins." Their songs are really sweet sounding. Some Cantonese music is no good, but I like 10% of their stuff.. a LOT.

HHAHaahh this concludes [for now] your Tuesday of Kpop and Cpop! Not enough of my guy friends like kpop. Something is wrong here!! BTW, something very subtle about my face is changing. I can't figure out what yet. Tim!?! growing up ?!!

This fool acted in Battle Royale. MAN what a great movie.

Sunday, May 16, 2004

Hi. I should brief you on my great Sunday. Went to church in the morning and there's this new Mark Sunday school. Just reading about John the Baptist and Jesus is really empowering because they were so hardcore. Afterwards I went with some friends to see a performance by the California Youth Symphony... Woahoa, saw heecka people there and my old stand partner named Ashley who is doing REALLY well. I'll bet she's going to be a doctor or a performer someday! What a genius. I also predict that in a season or two she's going to be concertmaster (just wait and see). After the concert glen, julia and I went to this liquor store to eat these sandwiches... omegosh such good stuff. Liquor amazes me (all the fancy bottles and etc). And don't worry I won't get drunk, I'm just interested that there is such a great variety of liquors! BBQed at home with the family then watched Edward Scissorhands.

Must see movie. It's a sad movie about this guy who is so meek, naive, and different... he's gentle but his scissors hurt others and he is misunderstood. It's one of Tim Burton's best films!

I can't wait for next Tuesday. There are Sooo many kpop pics I am ready to show you guys. Very cool and "cute" ones. Anyways I had a recital for my old teacher and a competion for the violin today. It was very fun. One of the competition judges is going to be my teacher at school next year. After I finished playing, he talked to me outside the audition room and was like "Why didn't you call me? I could have help you out [getting money], but now it's a little late." Anyways, he's going to petition on my behalf at the school (cool!). He looks like a cool guy (plays for SF symphony). Anywaaayss there were some pretty crazy good kids playing at the comp. Only prob is... they weren't slick stuff. Jkjkjk not that I'm esp. slick myself xP.

At the recital earlier that day, I was talking to this Suzuki mom. She was a VERY fast talking Chinese lady, like very HYPER. She was like "You have good tone, which is rare among violinist, belive me, I've played with quite a few, I'm a pianist." Then she went on saying how she almost married a violinist (who now is a doctor. "I could have become a doctress!!" she said. She's married to a white guy, and has this hilarious and cute kid who doesn't stop smiling. What a cool family! So fun!) and that us violin players "tend to be egotistical monsters." Holy CRAP. That's true.

Went to Leland hip hop club. Nice people there. I messed around with this popper and it was very fun (i can keep up with them)!! niiiiiice!! It's so interesting talking.. it's like hiphop talk.. "What glides do you know?" and "Have you seen any swipes before?" and ... "Yeah, so and so's our best swiper."

Slick slick stuff. I will be working hard.

A lot of BoA pictures. And I mean a lot.

My pianist is great. Well anyways Jon helped me buy some Sanrio stuff for her kids because she has been really nice to me and didn't charge me for previous accompaning (a gift of service worth around $150). I was like "Here's some gifts for your kids," and she gave the sanrio bag to her two little ones watching the TV. So the kids came over to me and said "thank you." My mom bought some Chinese dried meat for them, and my pianist took out the box and said in her Japanese accent "What is this?" I said "It's snacks." We rehearsed for only about 15 minutes and thought that was enough, so we went ahead and played some Beethoven for fun. Then Hiroko (that's her name) asked if I was Christian! How beautiful when brothers (and sisters) live together in unity! It's good to have friends in Christ (and music)!

I will deem Tuesdays as being a posting oppertunity for my "Asian Star Digest." Today I' will be talking about some Korean stars that I think are really cool. I'll be talking about groups under the SM label today. SM is one of Korea's largest record companies, hosting a lot of the best "poppier" music acts, and very importantly, has a contract with BoA, probably Korea's biggest pop star ever. Here are some pictures of her in 2002.

BoA is an international kpop star; very popular in Japan as well as Korea. Her music is a mixture of a lot of differnt pop styles, but it's unique because it blends scales and Asian rooted modes with Euro and American pop style (basically why kpop is great music). Some people I know think BoA sucks at singing (ahem, GLAM) but I think that she is one of the best pop singers out there (because people LOVE her voice! very expresive *nods*). Her ballads and fast dance songs are all top notch music. Not only that, but she's a hecka good dancer (although she doesn't do and spins, flips, poses, etc. just straight up hip hop). I think she's cranked out about 12 discs now, debuing in 2001 I think? She's 17 now (born November 5th, 1986) and began recording her first album at age 12. So SM scouted her out when her older brother auditioned for the label, and BoA audition too (SM asked auditioners to also encourage siblings to also audition). She was discovered at age 11 and trained by pros to perform. The idea was that in order for Korean pop to expand abroad, they need a young female vehicle because a tred during that time was that young, female stars were gaining attention and popularity (i.e. japanese girl pop group SPEED. but thats a different story). Before learning to sing and dance however, BoA was taught English and Japanese in order for her to reach a larger audience. Then she was taught to sing and dance. Her dance teachers were some of Japan's best dancers, and BoA was recognized to be expectionally gifted at dancing. One of her teachers praised BoA saying "When compared to the Japanese dancers who do nothing but dance, her skills are right up at that level. And among the female singers who do both singing and dancing, there is no one who has the skills that BoA has."

Young pop group Dong Bang Shin Gi under the SM label. The boys are also in their teens (16, 17 ish) and they're really good (supposedly girls think their attractive xP. but iiii wouldn't know). They are very popular with the females. They also sing some accapella so that shows that they have some real talent. Coming out just this year, they made a pretty good impression and have collaborated with BoA.

Hopefully you know some good fun filled facts bout SM's BoA and stuff.

What if one day you disappeared? I would assume that first, people would notice that you weren't at school. Maybe your friends would try calling you. Later in the day, your parents would worry because you hadn't arrived home from school yet. Most likely they would call your friends and your school, trying to find out if anyone had seen you recently. Eventually, a search would be organized to find you, or the remains of you perhaps. But the would never find you of course. You disappeared into thin air. Now go foward in time a few years; would people still be looking for you? Would your family and friends still be saddened by your sudden disappearance? Wouldn't it be sad if you disappeared, yet had to watch your parents experience the pain of your departure. How sad.

Well thank God that that will never happen to you. Though life is full of it's share of troubles and burdens, you have God to help you follow his plan for your life. He shares your burdens. Plus, you have brother's like ME to encourage you! Wahoo! Aren't you glad!!

Dream jobs:

-Vampire/Werewolf hunter: Now this would be a cool job. Do you know how cool Werewolfs would be if they were real?
-Vampire extrodinare: This would be cool too. I could live forever and learn to fence. But I would be a good vampire, i.e. unevil!
-being a dad would be alright too i guess. Siigh, aw man. "/

I am totally kidding. My girl or boy will be totally kick butt and be the most hip kids in the world. Can you say Jackson 5? jkjk!!

"If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?"

Deep stuff isnt it. Flying over the rainbow actually is a reference to crossing from sadness to happiness. One day, you'll just wake up and feel as if all your troubles are behind you?

You know, people here's a message: Don't judge people by their online journals. I mean it's great to know how people think and what they're going through; that's all great. But seriously, a journal hardly says a thing about a person. It's just most of the time what they just feel like writing about. So don't read journals and think you're getting an inside "reality show" look at others! A journal doesn't make up a person, eh?

Chilled in Tino with many cool Tino ppl who didn't go to the dance (went to a choral performance, tapex, verde, lalala). Dude, there's this one hardcore japanese, senior, party-animal... rubber burning hilarious FBLA psycho (yet ultimatly ultra cool). Crazy stuff. I'm going to meet the SJCCollege school president on Monday! May is Asian heritage month at school, and I'm supposer to play violin on campus for different events. In return, the Prez will hook me up with some bling, perhaps. Haha naaaa, he's just going to help circulate a letter (by me!) that says I'm a cool guy who helps kids and disabled people, and that I need money for college rather badly (or I'm off to war!).

Well you won't be getting into my mind today ppl. Just an update on life. In Frisco I'm seriously gonna find a dance studio and get a teacher. that would be cool.

welcome.. to the new school of my hip-hop

understand me, life ain't gone have me, brand me, pick me up and trash me
stash me, hiden away in the underground
but couldn't stay under covers for too long cuz my rhymes get round town
ears ground in the sound of the boom boom clap sound
this ain't ordinary, it's a new rhyme-riddle drop
put yo hands together, cuz this the new school of my hip hop

put yo hands together, hear the boom boom clap
it ain't gone last forever, once this rhymes out ya know it aint coming back

tour school: this way, lookit at the ice and cheese, let ya breathe
and gasp cuz the air aint clean
dont get on your knees and beg for mercy
can't you see
living gangster life aint the way for me
lead outside to my fancy s-class
pump up the bass hear them alpines blast
spin the rims, clean that benz, go ahead its yours
every inch of the leather to every inch of the doors
hit the closet, filled to the floors,
with the fur and leather
and my bling bling matches with the season weather
got five pair shoes for every day of the week
got the fresh white shirts, kicks all look shiek
hit the town on my bike, kick the night off right
hit the club, ditch the club, couldn't stand to watch another cat fight
get home, crashin
wake up dashin
thats the life of the new hip hop fashion
smashin.

by ME. instead of working on my essay.
Went to my appointment at the recruiters office. If you want to know about it you'll have to talk to me about it. Pay isn't bad, that's for sure.

Time to hit up Word and crack down on this essay crap. did you know it costs almost 30 bucks for a box of paper? I had to make a paper run today for work. Not on my job description? Haha but I seriously have the 3 best jobs in the world. Although.. teaching kids drives me up the wall. If kids weren't so cute parents would probably just ship them to Abudabi. Speaking of work, my friend Fernando works as a server at a comedy club (around thirty hours a week). THIRTY! That is insane for a full time student. And the funny girl he now hangs with also is a restaurant worker... DAnG... she closes at 10:30 like 5 times a week. See, you only meet these hardcore people at places like San Jose City College. All you guys out there are living the good life. Don't hate... the blue collar. They rock.

Tuesday, May 04, 2004

I just finished practicing for like 2 hours. It feels really good when your arms are really hot after you had a good practice. Music is an art of the body, mind, and soul. No wonder we praise God with music!

Today.. May the 4th of 2004, marks the day I can do a crazy slick handstand. It's crazy slick because I prop my feet in a check mark shape. Remember how I said that almost anything is possible with practice and motivation? Today also marks the day of my first pair of flip flops. I went to the GAP, saw the pair I had seen in the mag a day before, and bought them. That was cool. I think I shall wear them tomorrow. And the recruitment office called me back today. I'm meeting with them tomorrow. My dad says that if he was me, he would join the military. Hopefully I can get in, and they can give me the money I need for school.

This is so weird. There must not be a single guy in the world like me. The whole package; I have so many unusual interests and goals and I'm very motivated and hardworking to achieve those goals. Yet while I think this is a cool deal, I am like the opposite of the model Asian minority (labor stratified as a high level tech dude). Oh well. Being a musician will be cool. I'll have more time to help my kids blow bubbles and do handstands. Additionally, being a military man (if it falls through) I'll be exceptionaly republican, and my kids won't be weaksauce. Tite.

Monday, May 03, 2004

I have a new option. U.S. Military. FREAKING YEAH LETS GO BABY. I'm serious. They could use a creative mind over there.

Glen said that some random person at Tino says that I'm "pretty GQ." Hilarious!! Speaking of which I was reading GQ today. April issue is on beachwear, with a big emphasis on surfers. Got me scared of Socal. What if I became this bleached out, overy studly, hunk of surfer dude. That would suck. Well at least I saw in the mag a pair of GAP flip flops that I would like to buy.

Sunday, May 02, 2004

i saw one tree hill today and a everwood (everwood actually was pretty good). Well darn, this news kind of sucks, but kind of doesn't. It's one of those cup's half full half empty deali0s. if i get into UCLA i'm not going to the conservatory. It would be nice to be angry but I really have no right to be... so that's the deal, I guess. UCLA has many positive aspects: Chinese and Korean culture, hip hop, Chinese food, more Asians (including Tiffany, Richard, a few orch buddies, and possibly my school bud), and the music department is pretty good. Yair says its a cool deal. Hey at least I would have friends at LA. See, at a conservatory I would probably be surrounded by musical intellectuals and geniuses. That would take some gettin used to. No dorms in SF either.

But at the conservatory they already freakin KNOW MY NAME and KNOW WHO I AM because it's thats small. Do you know how special it would be if I could attend? The school has like 300 students, I mean, I could become a real musician. Well of course I could do that in graduate school too. But aww man, I should be happy but I'm dissapointed. But I know that for sure, God has a plan for me to prosper in whatever I do. Praise God.

"So fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too"
John Mayer

You know what. When I grow up I'm going to be a father. Tight. It would be cool teaching them how to hula hoop and do handstands.

"weirdest experince/day in the looongest time... wow a shitass day turned out to be pretty good. damn hella random day hah"

This punks name is Marc, a soph at leland. I am proud to say that by God's grace I helped his "hella random day" turn out "pretty good." Thanks God for the oppertunity!
