First post since I left for Mexico. I'll sort of type freely because I don't want to check my structure and grammer, etc.
My group in Mexico was lead by Angela and Grant, so obviously it was a BLAST!! Man, I love everyone on the team so much. Girls: you were such sweet, friendly people. Guys: you were all totally gangsters and awsome friends(VW*****087: MUY GANGSTERIL!). I'll still see you all, but I'll miss seeing you guys everyday! Rev. Ralph, pastor Angela, and Grant; you guys are my heros! You all shared some powerful messages during the trip! Other heros: Jason H (mr. caring), Vicki (the kid carer and craft master!), Joline (the expert baloon maker), Ricky (the fearless friend asker), Virginia (the kid lover), Jason (the friendly/warm bud - happy belated award man), ... Those are just a few people off the top of my head. I'm telling you though, everyone on the team is awsome and have lots of respect from me.
We did a lot of ministry with neighborhood children and went to a rehab center and jail to present our dramas and such. The greatest experiances for me were with the children. I met this little buddy dude at this one orphanage named Manuel, man was that kid a sweety. I helped him make his loaves and fish craft and discussed deep issues with him (such as: how old are you?) At another orphange I played with a few kids. One boy I called "el muchacho de canicas" (the boy of marbles) because he had a bottle full of marbles and I was shooting them around with him. I talked with him and he gave me some marble lessons. With another kid, I was asking what music he liked, I expected him to say something like "Enrique Inglesias" or something, but gess what? He said he liked music that glorified God! What an amazing kid. I painted and played with this other child who was such a buddy. Ohh man, when he gave me a hug I was just saying "Mi amiiigo mi amiiiiiiiiiigo" because I just loved him so much.
It sad to be away from Mexico and from the children, but really it's just the start of something great God wants to do in my life. The trip and experiance has lifted my spirit and put on my heart care for others in and out of church. I love ya all-
peace out.
